I moved from this beautiful location about a year and a half ago and it gave us the most beautiful, magical winters. I know a lot of people yearn for the sun but I love the winter, the way the street lights glisten off the snow and make you feel like you are living in a fairy tale. Walks up to the woods in the early hours were my favourite, so peaceful and a perfect setting to clear your head in the frosty air while all cosied up in your winter attire. West Yorkshire is truly a beautiful place to see and would highly recommend it for any budding travellers out there who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I hope to go back one day. I’m hoping going back over old pictures inspires me to go out and take more photos. Time to explore the south of England!
Beautiful untouched snow – no had quite made it up the steep hill since the snow had fallen over the night.
You would often find people sat on this bench as they had a rest while making it up the steep hill. At the top of the hill was a community for the older generation. Many a times you would offer your services to help carry groceries.
Met Lucy on a walk, she loved being out in the snow.
I loved walking in amongst the trees in the two pictures below. On some occasions you would be the first to enter in to this winter wonderland and witness a truly beautiful site with no footprints on the freshly laid snow. These moments were definitely my favourite as you felt you were the only person that existed, it was the type of isolation I most definitely welcomed!
I particularly love this picture due to the street lights. I always found this kind of lighting in the snow very warm while freezing cold.
